The republican representative of the House of Representatives, Mike Flood, faced what seemed to be a hostile crowd during a noisy town hall on Monday night in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The crowd exploded in a few minutes from the start of the forum, shouting and shouting the congressman while promoting the massive bill of policies and taxes by President Donald Trump signed in July.
Flaod said there were about 750 members at the audience at Kimball Hall.

“I know that this will probably find some resistance … I want the opportunity to tell you and talk to you about medical care in the bill that we have just approved. I want to go directly to this bill, because I know that this is something that many people have questions. And, frankly, from where I feel, there has been a lot of wrong information about the bill,” said Flood to the crowd, who received strong boos of the audience.
He tried to walk to the audience through key provisions of medical care of Megabill, but the strident crowd continuously drowned.
“The only way we are going to overcome tonight is if I have the opportunity to tell you why I voted, because I ultimately represent you, and say your opinion,” he said.
Megabill’s impact on Medicaid was a main theme mentioned in the City Council, which enraged the audience.
“So, here is a question. Do you think people who are 28 can work and refuse to work, should get free medical attention?” Flood asked, who received a hostile response from the crowd. “I don’t think most Nebraskanes agree with you.”
The congressman argued that while the benefits of Medicaid were not reduced, the changes in the program do not “involve anyone who is disabled, to be older and cannot work, anyone who is pregnant or vulnerable.”
When a audience member asked him how the congressman can justify eliminating medical attention from Nebraskans, floods eliminated concern.
“We have a state in which our infrastructure will be supported, it will be financed and will be available for the people who need it. If you can work and are 28 years old and choose not to work, you do not get free medical attention in the United States. If you are in this country illegally, you do not receive free medical care in the United States.”
The members of the audience shouted repeatedly: “Promote the rich! Promote the rich! Promote the rich!” While the Flood representative discussed the fiscal provisions of the Megabill, such as not having a tax on tips and without taxes on overtime.
The congressman withdrew, saying: “If we adopt the plan of the Democrats in the last Congress to tax the rich, it would generate $ 50 billion, which does not take us close to where we are going. And reduces the creation of employment. Cut business creation. Cut the capacity of employers to invest in their businesses.”
“This bill is a middle -class tax cut,” said representative Flood at one time, who received a strong setback and boos of the audience.
“I read the bill,” the congressman added when a constituent pressed him. “Is each perfect invoice? No. But I supported this bill.”
The Flood representative took several questions about a wide range of issues, but the audience was not satisfied, shouting: “Vote it!” As the time and a half event came to an end.
