A federal judge on Friday temporarily prohibited the Trump administration from making wide and not directed immigration stops in California.
The temporary restriction order prevents the Department of National Security from making arrests of people based solely on factors such as race, accent, the type of work they do and its presence in a particular place, as collection sites for workers and agricultural sites.
The order is produced after a lawsuit filed by the immigrant defense groups accused federal agents of attacking Latin communities with unconstitutional tactics, including arrests without court order, racial profiles and denying access to legal advice.

Judge Maame Ewusi-Menah Frympong, appointed by Biden, put on the side of the southern ACLU and other groups that filed the lawsuit, discovering that the “itinerant patrols” without reasonable suspicions are unconstitutional.
“What the federal government would make this court believe, in the face of a mountain of evidence presented in this case, is that none of this is really happening,” Frimpong wrote.
In particular, the judge’s decision applies to several counties, including Los Angeles and Ventura, where an immigration application operation on a cannabis farm became violent when protesters collided with agents.
The judge will hold a hearing on the case in the next few days.
