The Storm Prediction Center continues to warn that numerous significant tornaries, some of which could be long and potentially violent, are expected in the next few hours. Cities such as Jackson and Meridian, Mississippi and Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, Alabama, remain at the high risk.

A “moderate risk” of level 4 is established from the northeast of Louisiana to southern Tennessee, including cities such as New Orleans, Louisiana and Montgomery, Alabama, to Chattanoga, Tennessee. Wind bursts and several tornadoes are possible in this area with the threat that lasts the night in some places.
Strong and harmful wind bursts could also affect cities such as Tallahassee, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; and Nashville, Tennessee, where an “improved risk” of level 3 has been issued.
Destructive wind bursts of up to 80 mph could cause generalized damage and trigger many blackouts.
