“He, from our preliminary research, took the elevator bank wrong to the NFL headquarters,” Adams told CBS. “Instead, he took him to Rudin’s management, and that is where he made additional shootings and took the lives of additional employees.”

Four people were killed. Two have been identified: a Blackstone executive who was a wife and mother, and a police officer who was a two -year -old father with a third party.

A fifth shooting victim was injured and taken to the hospital in critical condition, authorities said. That victim is out of surgery and is stable on Tuesday morning, according to a source familiar with the state of the individual.

Police tracked the BMW movements of Tamura through several states since he left his native state of Nevada on Saturday and entered New York on Monday, approximately two hours before the shooting, the sources said.

Tamura had two mental health crises in his background in Nevada, one in 2022 and the other in 2024, sources of application of the law said. Those contained generally allow a person to be arrested for up to 72 hours if they believe they are a danger to themselves or for others. According to a source, when there is this type of retention in Nevada, officers have to transport the person to the hospital. Once that happens, the medical staff takes over and decides how long to retain the person.

A Las Vegas police source said Tamura also obtained its CCW, or the hidden transport license, in 2022 and also has a previous arrest due to the state.

Midtown Manhattan’s shooter Shane Tamura received a hidden transport permit in 2022 by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

In the shooting scene, the Police recovered a high -power M4 assault rifle covered with blood.

New York governor Kathy Hochul, issued a passionate statement by pressing a prohibition of assault weapons on Tuesday.

“The murderer used an AR-15-style assault rifle. The same weapon of war used in mass shootings throughout the United States,” he said in a statement. “New York has some of the strongest arms laws of the Nation. We prohibit assault weapons. We strengthen our red flag law. We close the dangerous gaps. But our laws only get so far when an AR-15 can be obtained in a state with weak weapons laws and brought to New York to commit mass murders.”

“The American people are tired of thoughts and prayers,” said the governor. “Congress must convene courage to face the weapons lobby and finally approve a national assault weapons prohibition before more innocent lives are stolen.”

Hochul has ordered flags in all state government buildings that are flown in the middle of the staff in honor of the victims.

“An attack against one of us is an attack against all of us, and we must face this violence in front,” he said. “My heart is with our neighbors in Manhattan, the victims and their families, as well as with the brave men and women of the New York Police.”

President Donald Trump wrote on social networks on Tuesday that he was informed “about the tragic shooting that took place in Manhattan, a place that I know and love.”

“I trust that our law enforcement agencies reach the bottom of why this crazy lunatic committed such an insensitive act of violence,” he wrote. “My heart is with the families of the four people who were killed, including the New York Police officer, who made the last sacrifice. God bless the New York Police Department, and God bless New York!”
