Air India Jet transporting 242 accidents in India on the way to London, with ‘not survivors’ probably

London and Delhi – an Air India plane that transported 242 passengers and crew on the way to the United Kingdom from India crashed shortly after takeoff, apparently killing everyone aboard the Boeing Dreamliner, local officials and the airline said.

“The flight, which left Ahmedabad at 1:38 p.m., had 242 passengers and crew members aboard the Boeing 787-8 plane,” the airline said A statement Posted in social networks. “Of these, 169 are Indian citizens, 53 are British citizens, 1 Canadian citizen and 7 Portuguese citizens.”

The General Directorate of Civil Aviation of India said the plane “fell to the ground outside the airport perimeter” immediately after it left the airport. The video of the site seemed to show that the plane disappeared under the tree line, which was followed second by a fireball and a thick gray smoke plume.

“There was a strong black smoke from the accident site,” said the general direction in the statement.

Indian Civil Aviation Minister Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu said he had “ordered all aviation and emergency response agencies to take quick and coordinated measures” to respond to the accident.

“The rescue teams have mobilized, and all efforts are being made to ensure that medical help and relief support are taken to the site,” added the minister.

GE Aerospace, the aircraft motion manufacturer, said in a statement that they have also activated their emergency response team and are “prepared to support our client and research.”

The local governor, Bhupendra Patel, spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the accident to coordinate his emergency response, authorities said. Patel said he ordered a so -called “green corridor” for emergency vehicles to travel between the accident site and local hospitals.

Modi in a statement confirmed that he had been in contact with local officials.

The flight was scheduled to fly from Ahmedabad airport, which is officially Sardar Vallebhbhai Patel International Airport, to London Gatwick Airport, according to Flightradar24, a follow -up site.

“The emerging scenes of a plane bound for London that transports many British citizens who crash in the Indian city of Ahmedabad are devastating,” said Starmer in A statement.

The captain had 8,200 hours of experience and the co -pilot had 1,100 hours of flight experience, added the General Directorate of India.

The National Transportation Board will lead a team of American researchers who travel to India to help in the investigation of the accident.

All information on the investigation will be provided by the Indian government.
