A Russian strike during the night against kyiv killed 14 people and wounded more than 100, local officials said in the Ukrainian capital on Early Tuesday, when Moscow launched hundreds of drones and missiles into the country.

It was not clear immediately if others can be trapped under the rubble, said Kyiv mayor, Vitali Klitschko, in an update on the telegram messaging application.

Emergency staff worked in several places, including a residential building in the Solomianskyi district, where “a complete entrance collapsed,” Klitschko said. The mayor published a video on Telegram that shows what he said that Russian cluster ammunition found in one of the impact sites in the capital.

The Ukraine Air Force said in a telegram position that the attack consisted of 440 drones and 32 missiles, of which 402 drones and 26 missiles were demolished or neutralized. The Air Force reported impacts in 10 locations and waste fallen in 34 locations.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the national attack killing at least 15 people were killed. kyiv took the worst part of the strikes, Zelenskyy wrote, with impacts also reported in Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovahrad and Mykolaiv.

At least one person died in Odesa and 17 other wounds, according to a telegram post by local governor Oleg Kiper.

“Such attacks are pure terrorism,” Zelenskyy wrote in Telegram. “And the whole world, the United States and Europe finally react the way in which a civilized society reacts to terrorists.”

The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, Zelenskyy, said: “He is doing this only because he can afford to continue the war. He wants the war to continue. It is bad when the powerful of this world become blind to this. We are contacting all partners at all possible levels so that there is an appropriate response. It is the terrorists who should feel the pain, not normal, peaceful people.”

The attacks occurred when G7 leaders gathered in Canada, where Russia’s current war against Ukraine is one of several key discussion issues. President Donald Trump suggested on Monday that Russia, previously a member of the group when it was known as the G8, should not have been expelled from the block in 2014 after its invasion and annexation of Crimea.

Putin “sends a sign of total disrespect to the United States and other partners who have asked for the end of death,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, said in a position on X. “Putin’s goal is very simple: make G7 leaders look weak. Only strong steps and real pressure in Moscow can demonstrate that it is wrong.”
